PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING POLICY PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 13 OF EUROPEAN REGULATION NO. 679/2016
1. Introduction
Pursuant to Article 13 of European Regulation No. 679/2016, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, as the Data Controller, must provide you with information regarding the use of your personal data.
2. Data Controller

4. Data processors
The Municipality of Reggio Emilia may use third parties by appointing them as Data Processors to carry out activities and the relative processing of personal data for which it acts as the Data Controller.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of European Regulation 679/2016, the Municipality shall sign contracts with these subjects binding the Data Processor to the Data Controller for activities relating to the processing of personal data.
For the processing in question, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia has appointed the following as Data Processors:
- POPWAVE S.R.L.
- REI FOUNDATION Industrial Research and Technology Transfer
- I.F.O.A Istituto Formazione Operatori Aziendali (Company Employee Training Institute)
Please note that just for the activities relating to letter d) of the REGGIO HUB 2023-2025 project:
d) Services to promote local businesses in order to provide visibility for career and job opportunities for highly specialised talented individuals, in particular for highly specialised professional figures and positions that are difficult to find
I.F.O.A. shall act as an independent data controller, relieving the Municipality of Reggio Emilia from any responsibility in this respect.
5. Subjects authorised for processing
Your personal data shall be processed by staff from the Municipality of Reggio Emilia who have been pre-authorised and appointed as data processors and who have been given appropriate instructions regarding the purposes and methods of the data processing based on applicable personal data protection legislation.
6. Purposes of the processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
- To respond to requests for information through the specific form;
- To fulfil administrative, accounting and management obligations relating to your potential application to the project by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia REGGIO HUB 2023-2025.
7. Legal grounds for the processing
Your personal data shall be processed by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority, therefore, pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 1, letter e) of European Regulation 679/2016, your consent is not required. Your personal data shall only be processed by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia for purposes that fall under the Administration’s institutional tasks and to fulfil any potential legal, regulatory or contractual obligations.
Your personal data shall be processed based on the contents described in the REGGIO HUB 2023-2025 project – from letter A) to letter G) – funded by the Region of Emilia Romagna under resolution no. 1788 of 23/10/2023 session no. 44.
8. Recipients of personal data
Your personal data shall not be circulated.
Alongside the Data Processors indicated under the previous point 4, your data may be disclosed to the following subjects:
- sub-partners of the project, such as Iren S.p.A. and Landi Renzo S.p.A. appointed as sub-data processors by the Data Processor, the REI FOUNDATION;
- any institutional subjects as required by law or administrative proceedings.
9. Transfer of personal data to countries outside the EU
Your personal data shall not be transferred outside the European Union, except in cases provided for by specific legal obligations.
10. Retention period
Your data shall be stored for a period of time no longer than is necessary to achieve the aforementioned purposes. Regular checks shall therefore also be carried out to constantly verify the strict relevance, proportionality and essential nature of the data in line with the relationship, service or task, whether in progress, still to come or concluded, including in reference to the data you provide of your own accord. Any data which, including after these checks, is considered excessive, irrelevant or non-essential is therefore deleted, except if the deed or document containing this data must be retained by law.
11. Your rights
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- have your data amended or deleted or to have the processing of this data restricted;
- object to the processing;
- file a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority

12. Provision of data
Providing your data is optional, but necessary for the purposes indicated under point 6. Failure to provide this data shall make it impossible to respond to your requests for information and to assess or manage your potential application to the project by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia REGGIO HUB 2023-2025.
